Copywriter & Social Media Coordinator—Restart Solar

COPYWRITER & SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR—RESTART SOLAR

Restart Solar was a small, local solar panel company based in Los Angeles. However, they were aggressive in their goals and wanted an elevated digital and social experience to get their name out there and gain customers. My role included creating and editing digital and print copy for a variety of projects, such as advertising campaigns (ads, posters, flyers, etc), blog updates, press releases, website copy, and employee bios. I was also tasked with creating, developing, managing, and tracking social media posts and their performance across multiple platforms. I worked directly under the director of marketing and creative, which I think helped streamline the creative process while elevating the end results. We took a DIY approach to a lot of the marketing, including implementing wheat paste poster campaigns, designing bus bench ads, and giving away screen printed swag like t-shirts, beer coozies, and pins, which were all handmade in-house.

 

WATER UNDERGROUND

Restart Solar’s mission was to make not only SoCal, but the entire world a better place. They partnered with the non-profit Water Underground to host a charity event raising awareness of the clean water issues the people of Mozambique face. The event featured artists doing a live painting that was auctioned off at the end of the night, as well as a short film, guest speakers, testimonials, and more. I was tasked with capturing photo for social media posts and writing a blog that recapped the events of the night as well spread awareness about the charity and cause.

 

INSTAGRAM

In addition to handling all of the copy needs for the website, blog updates, and informational materials, I was in charge of creating social media posts. The voice of the brand was eco-friendly, inspiring, positive, relatable, and fun but with an activist edge. I did a campaign of posts with inspirational quotes regarding activism as well as the importance of nature and humanity’s role in protecting it. In addition, we focused on lifestyle posts that showcased the various aspects of the brand, including a massive wheat paste poster campaign, and the building and grand opening of the new showroom.

SALES CONSULTANT BROCHURE

Each member of the sales team had brochures with their own bio and info to hand out to customers. These were meant to outline the company’s services, the benefits of solar, and inform customers about the new referral-based rewards program, while providing a personalized sales touch.
